I struggle with both, but when it comes to aircon/fans/and heating my eyes can be destroyed in half an hour, no drops help, I need my goggles to stop the burning. Screens aren’t so bad. I’m so scared to work in an office

I'm starting my first job in an office environment since my MGD came about. I've worked from home the past two years so have been able to create a cocoon of sorts as many of you probably have. Humidifier in my face, take eye mask breaks when necessary, etc etc. Am currently working with my ophthlamogist to fine tune a pair of Boston PROBE's. I'm getting there but work starts in less than two weeks and, due to being a new employee, I won't exactly have time to duck out to the doctor twice a week as has been my schedule for the past two months. Bottom line, I'm petrified of getting there day one and realizing by noon that I'm in agony. I know many of you have even had to quit your jobs due to this. It's incredibly intimidating and frightening. Just thought I'd share.

Be sure to also take breaks when you can and keep your eyes moist..and BLINK often. Use a blink reminder as others have mentioned. I use eyeCare on Google Chrome. You don't even need to have Chrome open for it to remind you to blink. Best of luck.

I've had to quit a job because of dry eyes. I was a school counselor and at 28 had to quit because the office was a horrible environment for me eyes. I think the humidity was around 5%. I also live in the desert which doesn't help. I ended up starting a small business and now found a school counseling job where I can work from home. It's made a huge difference for me. I can 100% remember back to being in that office and living through excruciating pain.

I can relate to the glasses not working... when my eyes are doing really, really bad, the only thing that works is keeping them shut, to be honest.
But when my eyes are doing better (although still nowhere close to normal), moisture chamber glasses can improve things further. However, I find the moisture chamber glasses have to fit PERFECTLY... super snug against my face so not even the slightest draft can get through. Only mentioning that since it sounds like your eye issues are having a big impact on your day to day living... and if so, the right pair of moisture chambers can improve things further. Every little bit of improvement counts.
Only mentioning this on the off chance that the fit of the glasses was the issue... I'd hate to have anyone rule out moisture chamber glasses and miss out on any potential improvement in ocular comfort that they can bring.
Also, I know for me - and it sounds like you, too - in a really dry environment, moisture chamber glasses will not be enough to allow me to function or avoid my eyes killing me - the only thing I can do in a really dry environment is to keep my eyes shut to minimize the desiccating stress of the environment.
