The more air conditioning there is the more prevalent this disease will become, we won’t be a minority eventually. This is going to be a worldwide revolution one day. Especially with this younger generation being given iPads to stare at by the time they’re 6 months old to keep them occupied for the parents sake. Due to this we are now seeing 7 year olds with complete gland dropout. An absolute travesty these devices are.

We are already a considerable fraction of the total population. If you are in the dry eye talk Facebook group you would be astonished to see the number of people joining the group every day. Air conditioning along with use of digital screens (both reduces the blink rate adversely and results in partial blinking) will eventually make this a global epidemic. But having more people like us around will only make us feel better. We need a "cure" to tackle this devastating problem or else more than 50% of the global population would end up being functionally disabled.

Wow is there that many new people joining the Facebook group daily? I’m not a member of that group, ocular surface disease is a serious problem I’m scared for the future of this planet. Sure we are a minority but these younger generations that is going to be the real test of how bad this disease is going to be. And especially with all these computers people use for work there’s going to be more people with bad sight and guess what they’re going to do? ... go and get lasik to “Fix” it. lasik being so popular and it’s dangers being swept under the rug shit is going to hit the fan real bad.

Only hope is that if we all get killed in a WW3 and there's nothing to worry about.
