    some drs believe proving is only necessary when there is scar tissue (i.e., it physically breaks the scar tissue to expose the MG). proving is not without risks (i.e., it may cause more damage than good), i.e., its very invasive, and the benefits are unclear. there's only really 1 author publishing on probing, and thats ******, and if you read his publications very carefully, especially his claims that probing can result in MG tissue growth, you will find it very skeptical.
