  • Winter months worse?

Hi all, I've got moderate MGD and live in the northern US. Winter time rolls around and the humidity drops and exacerbates my dry eye symptoms. Anyone else in the same boat? Any ideas besides adding humidifiers to every room in the house? Thanks much.

Oh yes, big time. I have had to have a couple of days off work this week. Central heating is the biggest enemy

jack1988 Without question. I try to keep my heat off if possible but the wife doesn't agree with it, and rightly so.

Good morning everybody I have a question my ass apologist recommended to do PRk surgery for my severe dry eyes -anybody in this group who has done that???
I have recurrent corneal erosion, only at night it is very debilitating I have had Lasik done about 10 years ago not sure if that’s the cause of it but now my doctor has recommended PRK. Any success stories. Thank you so much

I think you meant ophthalmologist (grin).

And, do you really mean PRK (not PTK)? It is fairly common to do PTK for RCE and sometimes they combine it for vision correction as well. For some people it seems to work, some people end up getting it repeatedly. Since there are risks, like with all eye surgeries it may be a good idea to get a second opinion (and make sure it's from a cornea specialist).
