eye dr put me on antibiotics to clear up a supposed lid infection - have been taking them for 1.5 days now and the symptoms aren't any better. Should the antibiotic show some signs of working right away?

It will take several days for the antibiotic to make any difference. And different antibiotics work differently. Give it at least 3 days before you put in a call to your doctor and if the condition worsens do it then for sure. It is important also to take ALL of the medication. Don't stop it just because you feel better or the condition is better. It is necessary to do this in order to kill out whatever germ/bacteria is causing the infection.
