I have a minor one in my left eye, and it definitely contributes to irritation . I have looked into having it removed, but traditional methods have a high recurrance rate. Has anyone had any experiece with this process? Are there newer methods that reduce the recurrance? Thanks!

Yes there is new technique in removing pterygiums. The removal is about the same but the surgeon "glues" an amniotic membrane to the surgical site. I am not certain but I think the reop rate has dropped to about 20% of what it used to be.
