  • burning lips

I have had DES for 2 years and 11 months. My mouth dryness started a year later (neg. tests for Sjogrens, opthm. says I have it, PCP says I don't. I know it doesn't matter) In the last six months or so, whenever my eyes are particularly bad, the outer part of my lower lip burns. I put vaseline on constantly, which does help. On days when my eyes are better, so is this problem. I still have some residual lip numbness from a biopsy a year ago, maybe it's related to that. Does anyone else have this problem?
    Thanks,
    Elaine

    It sounds familiar

    Elaine,
I have that too along with the burning mouth. Mine is Sjogren's and Sensory Neuropathy related. If you've had a lip biopsy, it could be residual from that. My lips started burning before my biopsy.

But I'm wondering. Low humidity will dry out the eyes and mouth. One of the first things you should do for chapped lips is to drink water. Are you drinking enough water?
