As I was looking for more information on my eye problem, I came across a concern that I read about on this discussion board, complications from LASIK surgery, so I thought I would post an article that speaks to how refractive surgeons are addressing the problem.
The article, "Refractive Surgeons Get Conservative," by Walter Bethke, Managing Editor of Review of Ophthalmology (Vol. No: 14:07; Issue: 7/1/2007), explains,"LASIK remains the most popular refractive procedure, but concern about potential ectasia in patients with unusual corneal topographies or borderline corneal thicknesses, however, is changing the way many surgeons approach surgical candidates.
"This month’s National Panel Report addressed refractive surgery issues. Thirty surgeons, or 6 percent of our 500-surgeon sample, responded. Here’s what they had to say. [...]"
