  • New Diagnosses Test For Tear Film Disorders

If this is already on the site somewhere then sorry for posting this.

Apartently there will be a new test to determine what type of tear film disorder one has by using a new type of OCT.

I guess the old OCT machines examined the retina and was hard to implement on the surface of the cornea because it's transparent. But Some researcher out of B&P in Miami found a way to do it.

I don't have the article in front of me but what it basically does is take a real time video of the surface of your eye. It can watch every single tear drop. The picture showed tear meniscus and everything.

Besides pinpointing what type of tear film disorder one has, they will also be able to tell what treatments are working for each person/disorder. Seems pretty promising

Which is it? Is it what you know or who you know? Or is it how well you convey what you know to who you know it to?
