  • Wee brushing tip

    Hi folks,

Thought I'd share this with you. Sounds daft but it helps my eyes.

Brush your teeth mostly with your eyes shut. Toothpaste is a killer on the eyes. Must be the Fluoride or something. Try it, hold a spot of toothpaste under the eyes and you'll notice they turn red immediately. It's another unwelcome irritant on your already malfunctioning eyes. Especially during the horrible extremely red phase upon awakening.

So keep your mouths shut and rinse immediately

    Interesting!

When we have a poor tear film, we certainly can become very sensitive to irritants and those vary by individual. I spoke today with a lady in my own town who has dry eyes and explained that being in sewing stores sets her eyes off terribly - perhaps the dyes or something? And I remember a fellow in New York I speak with now and then whose eyes react dreadfully to any type of cologne or perfume.

      Toothpaste--is it the peppermint oil?

Sewing store--the fabrics have "sizing" --a sort of starch or something that makes them look crisp. It's very irritating to the eyes--I remember my eyes burning in the fabric store when I was a kid---WAY back in the 50's and 60's.

        some more irritants

        Rebecca,
I can't stand being in fabric stores, import stores, or even in the household soap powders, deodorizer isle at Walmart. I'm convinced it's dyes at fabric store and import stores. And in the cleaning product isle, I think it's the high perfume content of it. They are all very unpleasant for me causing eyes to burn. Walmart adds to the insult by blowing air steadily at you while you are trying to check out. Walmart is a goggle store for me. Always wear the Panoptx there and if I forget the Panoptx, I wear a baseball cap that I keep in the car.

          calli66,

I think it must be the Sodium Fluoride
