  • Red eyes on your mind!

Having read a lot of posts here about the physcological effects of red, bloodshot eyes, I can certainly empathise. Before - and after - I was diagnosed with DES, it bothered me a lot that people must notice how bad my eyes look, not to mention my own feelings about how my eyes look. Always looking in the mirror constantly - sound familiar....

Anyway, what I have noticed recently is that looking at your eyes in a bathroom mirror under bright lights (down lights and so on) seems to magnify the redness dramatically - at least it does for me. I took a small mirror and looked again in the natural light and the real appearance of my eyes is so much better that it's hardly noticable, if at all!

Try it and see. Having found this out I feel so much more comfortable when I'm talking to people, especially at work where the majority of us would feel the most self conscious about DES
