I apologize for not being very clear with my previous post. I am wondering if anyone has heard of this and been successfully treated for it. Basically pannus is superficial neovascularization over the conjunctiva due to hypoxia from long-term contact lens wear. In other words, new blood vessels growing on the white part of the eye, mostly in the nasal corner, in response to lack of oxygen from contacts. I have worn contacts since the 5th grade and am now 29 and 2yrs post lasik. I have found that there is a procedure called a peritomy where a doctor will just cut away the thin area of new blood vessels. I have never heard of this and would love to hear if any of you have any input.
Thanks in advance,
