  • purple lids

    Hello,
So if my lids are purplish in color, is that just a sign of MGD? One doctor suggested I had some clogged MB glands. So I'm doing the doxy and the warm compresses and am trying the spa stuff.

Should my lids then return to a normal color? Same for my bags and tired eyes.......will they return to normal IF I recover from this lasik dryness?

    Thank you for your feedback.

    lboogie

My eyelids were frequently bruised looking, especially once the blepharitis set in full bore and particularly when I used restasis. I have been on minocycline now for 8 months and they are much better. I have ocular rosacea and MGD.

In my cheap and non medical opinion, MGD or some underlying inflammation that would cause MGD could certainly be causing it.

Since when did you get that dark color? If your skin there is very thin, its very natural to see a dark color. (vessels visible)

My lids are also light purple and sometimes very pink. If it is really bothering me, I use brown eye shadow to disguise it which then exasperates all of my discomfort when the powder starts irritating my eyes......

Well, it's hard to remember -- but probably around a month after my lasik -- I am now 3 months out. I do have a tendency toward dark circles, but the dark circles now are really bad, and make me look so sickly and tired -- even though I'm getting ALOT of sleep.

The lid thing, probably the same time frame. Also -- on a side note, now that I have been pulling my lids to the side, I can hear a squeak almost in my dryer eye -- that is terrible isn't it!?!? What is it? clogged glands?

Also I can't really tell if any oil is coming out when I compress and massage. Can I hope to regain better gland function with time and treatment?
