  • eye lashes falling out?

Just noticed this morning that my normally long eyelashes are getting kind of stubby. I know I've been losing a couple a day for a while just b/c of all the crusty stuff that forms on them from my days of dropping (Systane mostly) and makes them heavy, stiff, and easy to fall off when I try to remove all the debris from them. Anybody got a solution to this problem? Will they just grow back on their own? Any good ways to manage the cakey stuff on your lashes?

    Thanks

I just started using eyelid scrubs -- you could also try a warm damp washcloth held on your eyes for a minute or so to loosen the stuff. BTW eyelid scrubs also come in convenient wipes. Don't pull your lashes!
I think I saw another user here mention Water misting -- like Nature's Tears or Evian that comes in an actuator spray can. All in all, I think adding moisture will probably get the stuff looser so you won't have to pull out your beautiful lashes.
    Good luck

My eyelashes have also been falling out and when they grow back they are growing back bending down instead of up. I use to have thick long lashes, but since have MGD and dry eyes I think the long lashes are history. I also use a warm cloth to help loosen up any dried eye drops. I periodically through out the day taken a wet paper towel and wipe my lashes when I am at work to help keep the dried eye drops off my lashes.

        Also...

If you're not already blotting, try lightly blotting just your lashes with eyes closed after drop application. Might help reduce the buildup.

          Hi,
So if you lose lashes from MGD, they will grow back? I've lost some, and have been wondering if they will grow back.

            eye lash loss

Eye lash loss is a common symptom in blepharitis , mgd (posterior blepharitis)when lashes grow back it can lead to eye lid scarring (eye lashes that grow back and make contact with the surface of the eye) this is common in severe chronic posterior blepharitis .
I have undergone electroylosis and cryotherapy to prevent eye lid scarring, cryotherapy is a very evasive form of surgery , i would advise electroylosis as the first treatment to combat ingrowing eye lashes, please feel free to question any of these treatment as i have a fair understanding of these conditions and the treatments for them.
