  • The Digest

Sometimes I forget to check Rebecca's blog <http://www.dryeyedigest.blogspot.com/>, but I read it today, and it has a LOT of good new posts on recent studies.

Rojzen, there's even some new evidence that that "menthol sensation" that drive a lot of nuts can be supported with this study. Maybe it shows that we will be better able to communicate with our doctors and start closing that gap between our symptoms and objective ways of measuring the problem.

Anyway, I just wanted to post a reminder about the Digest, because it has so many good studies.

    Thanks for mentioning it liz56!

By the way... now that we have the new Blogs feature here on DEZ, I've been posting in parallel to the DEZ blog everything that I'm posting on the Digest. It's not as elegant, but it works, and you don't have to go to another site to get at it.

Speaking of which, I've been meaning to post a reminder about the blogs! All you do is click on the "Blogs" link in the blue bar above. It's really neat and I hope more of you will think about starting one... it's quick and easy, and if you need any help just post in the Help Desk ("How do I..." forum).

Check out Terri's blog - I've been really enjoying it. I'm salivating over this NutriBase program right now....

I'm enjoying the new information-sharing option that the blog offers. It give you a place to post information where you can easily access it in the future, plus you get to edit previous posts when you learn something new or modify your routine!

I'd love to nominate several of you to start blogging: liz56, rojzen, calli66 and dianat are on my short list. I've learned a lot from you and other people on this board, and I think you'd enjoy the format.

Nice Job on the Blog, Terri!

        Hi, Terri.

Your blog is really nicely done. I'm glad that Rebecca mentioned it. I'd love to hear more about your experiences with _Relearning to See_. I bought a copy and could not put it down. Because I wear glasses and need them for my job, I cannot just follow the instructions, but I am currently looking for a local optometrist who can help me to reduce my prescription. I really appreciate your discussion board posts on that!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I am not very knowledgeable. I may start one in the future, however, once I learn more.

Liz: Thanks, and I'll add something to the blog soon on my experiences with Relearning to See. I'm glad you're enjoying the book. I think it's a great primer on the way the eye and the brain work together to create vision and, as previously posted in other threads, I try to practice what I learned from it on a daily basis.

I beg to differ with your "not very knowledgeable" statement, though. I believe you are a fabulous source of knowledge on RCEs, and you might enjoy summarizing what you know for others in blog form.

I didn't know exactly how I would use a blog when I created my first post, and I'm still figuring it out. But I highly recommend it. It's useful for organizing your thoughts on a particular subject, and I gain additional insight sometimes as part of the process. A blog provides the cathartic benefits of a journal, just one you share online with a small group of friends.

No pressure, though! I'll keep looking for your posts on the boards in the meantime.

            Menthol

What is this “Menthol” sensation description that has sprung up?

I guess it is a cold, airy feeling on the eyes similar to sucking a menthol sweet? Correct?
