  • Going to the beach

    Hi All:

Going to the beach (bahamas actually). Wanted to know how those with dry eyes prepare for the sand, water, and wind? Thx!

Get a frozen strawberry daquari in your hand and forget about your eyes.

A few of them and you will forget you have eyes and a few more and your legs will go also.

On a practical note Just keep the sunscreen out of eyes, wear a good pair of sun protection glasses and drink loads of water - had two weeks in Greece last year so speaking from experience.

Have a fantastic holiday - enjoy it.

kcoffinger......lucky you! I am jealous. I can perhaps think of one thing you can do that might help. Take along a baseball cap, or a sunvisor type guard. This is quite a bit of help to keep the sun away from your eyes and face. Adding goggles (or wraparound sunglasses) and you're pretty well wind protected. You might also take a clean, wet washcloth with you when you head for the beach. You'd be able to freshen up your eyes or even do a cool compress.

      Have fun. Lucy

I will be going to the beach the end of next month. I agree with the recs. of Prattstar. I also recommend taking a dog or two with you, helps you get your mind off your eyes.
