Voltarol Drops

My doctor prescribed me these drops for my burning, stinting, dry eyes - anyone tried them? I think they are allergy drops.

I haven't tried them, but there is quite a lot of info here. From the description, they sound a bit like ibuprofen for the eyes. The multi-drop bottles contain BAC as a preservative, according to the literature.

I know ya - i'm going to get the single vials instead that don't contain a perservative. Don't know if they are helping me though - but i've only used it twice since.

Voltarol drops work as all non steroidal anti inflamatory drugs do - presumably to help pain and reduce inflamation - same as oral volterol used eg in arthritis and "back pain"
I have never used them though I considered asking for them at one point

I tried to get the single vials of Voltarol drops but there 200 euro.. unfortunately don't have that kind of money especially if they don't work.
I'll continue using the bottle one at the minute - they sting when i put them in though and get red but the redness clears after a few minutes - is this a good or a bad thing??

200 Euros! Wow! For that price, I would see if there was something else I could use.

I used hypromellose drops preserved with BAC for years, beause I didn't know any better. I hope I didn't suffer any permanent damage, but I'm sure they didn't do me any good, either. Just speaking for myself, I would steer clear of the Voltarol multi-drop bottles with the BAC, and ask my doctor if there was something else I could try.

I am having very good results with Clinitas Ultra 3 (the UK version of Freshkote,) but my problems may be different than yours. I don't have allergies, anyway. You might ask your doctor about trying it though.

I'm surprised this is what your doctor prescribed, I got Voltarol to use as an emergency pain relief for my corneal erosions just so that I would be able to get myself to hospital.

I don't think they are good to use regularly and I'm not sure if they treat underlying causes of eye problems. My advice is, go back to the doctor or go to a different one and try to see an eye specialist.

Thanks ya i've stopped using them, he said that they might help with the inflammation cz he uses them himself for hay fever and finds them good, i went to him in desperation really after trying a million other drops so he just suggested them. Have an appointment with an eye specialist the end of June.
