I'm still suffering from dry eyes 9 months since stopping a low dose/short course (2 months) of accutane/isotretinion and am in need of some further advice !
I have been back wearing my contact lenses for about 6 months but they are often still uncomfortable even when using Blink eyedrops (i get about 4 - 10 hours max wear most days and they are sore/red by the end)
I went to see a second opthamologist last week who like my first doctor said there appeared to be nothing wrong with my eyes. However he did say that he thought the ''mucin'' layer of my tear film is slightly deficient which may be causing me problems. He told me to use Liquifilm tears (polyvinyl alcohol) which should work ?
Has anyone got any advice/ideas that I can try ?
I am currently using Blink - Contacts whilst I use my lenses (Acuve Oasys) and take evening primrose oil/theratears nutrition each day and use the Liquifilm when my lenses are not in.
Does NAC help with the mucin layer ?
