  • upper eyelid swelling

any1 know the cause of this? My upper eyelids are not red, but much thicker than they used to be. This has been going on for 7 months and causes a great amount of discomfort. It's only the upper eyelids and not the bottom. My eyes otherwise look completely normal. There is no redness,itching,crusting,flaking,tearing,etc... Just swelling and pain. Feel free to post your thoughts on what this could be

could it be an allergic reaction - face cream or something?

I dont use any face cream or anything on my face. I shower with dial soap and baby shampoo. I dont think its an allergy because I have no itch. I got tested for allergies and didn't respond to anything

you are describing the same symptoms as me, I was diagnosed with posterior and anterior blepharitis. I don't think it is allergy related, but it is possible, most likely a food allergy if it is an allergy at all, or a food intolerance.

Sounds like MGD and you have to do warm comepresses to melt the oil. It seems that they are really back up. Just my guess.

You had indicated white specs ON the top of your lid margin(not inside) near your eyeball. Usually this is blocked glands.

I do seem to very rarely get some very very tiny white specs on top of my eyelid margins. Interstingly, there specs are on the bottom eyelid margin, the part that doesnt bother me.
