  • What is causing this?

    Hi everyone,

    my first post

I have seen two eye doctors(OD), and been on tobramycin and azasite but none helped. I'm not sure what I have yet but the major symptom that is really disturbing me is this.

When I wake up, my left eye is extremely red and dry but no discharge, itching, or anything else. And I notice the caruncle, the pinkish meat near your nose, is red. However, my right eye is perfect... As the day goes on, it clears up a bit.

What can be causing this? Is it true that when you sleep, you make less tears and oil? How come only my left eye is doing this? Any replies are welcome

    Thanks

    Tough one

I have been told that the moisture level in your eyes drops dramatically when you are sleeping. You may want to try fabric tape to make sure your eyelid stays shut all night and see what happens. Do not press the tape on with excessive pressure or it will be painful when removed.
