  • Left eye drier than right?

I've been reading a number of threads here and noticed that most people indicate that their left eye has more DES problems than their right. My left eye is significantly drier than my right too. I'm wondering if there is some reason for this like heredity or environment?

My right eye is/has always been drier than my left. I think it just depends on the individual.

My left eye is worst. It was the second eye lasered. The first went quite smoothly, the second not so. It has been the major pain in my face. Usually one eye may be healthier than the other I believe. Lucy

                right eye worse than left

to be honest they are both extremely bad but right is worst than left.

until recently both were bad but the left was worse than the right. since I have become more dilligent about lid hygine the right is sometimes perfectly fine. I am crossing my fingers that the left is just farther behind and can catch up with the right....has anyone had this happen?

                          Left

My left eye is definitely the bad one but my Optometrist said both have equally poor tear film.

Oh and I should add my right eye is my favoured eye. I was clay pidgeon shooting a few years ago, the instructor told us to point to a distant object with both eyes open, the close each eye. I found I was pointing away when right eye was closed. Some people favour left some right and some have equal vision - dunno if this is anything to do with it

No one here willing to change the status quo by offering their middle eye as the worst? LOL!

NO, not my middle eye, it's a secret but......

My Sjogren's started after knee replacement surgery that didn't go right. Now my left foot, left knee, and left eye is the worse. It's just like they drew a line right down the middle of my body. I limp on my left foot too. It would be interesting to see how many of us have a significant health issue that started the eye issues and how many of us have had lasic, like a poll.
Maybe that poll could be printed and sent to Mayo or Johns Hopkin. I'd be glad to take it and print it for Mayo and I bet I can find the right doctor at Johns Hopkins thru a friend of mine. Rebecca...if you will start the poll, I"m not too good at setting things up. I'm about ready for a new doctor anyway.
