  • Foods I've noticed that aggravate symptoms

here are some foods that I have noticed aggravate or cause inflammation for me.

    Beans(all types)
Tomatoes(all tomato products) especially raw tomatoes!
    milk products(except butter)

these foods don't seem to digest well for me, they make my body feel worse, and aggravates inflammation/dryness. after I eat these foods, they don't digest well, and cause me very mild diarrhea the next day, well i guess you could call it more of loose stools than diarrhea, but I can tell that it looks mostly undigested. I have read somewhere that some people's bodies lack the enzymes to digest certain foods.

anyone else notice foods that aggravate their dry eyes or cause discomfort?

I've noticed that eating shellfish makes the skin around my mouth and my eyelids burn like crazy....

I'm doing an elimination diet to see if it helps.

I have Sjogren's and one of the other symptoms besides eye dryness/inflammation is intestinal inflammation. I am always having something going on---but I haven't noticed any particular foods really effecting my eyes one way or the other.

I am always a "slave" to my digestive problems. It varies so much, that I'm not always sure what foods to avoid. When things get bad, I go back to a very bland diet of rice cream cereal, no raw veggies, only cooked, no salads, and very small portions.

I try to eat an "anti-inflammatory" diet to help my eyes and my digestion: no dairy, gluten, coffee, red meat, etc. and I drink green tea. I only feel deprived when I'm out with family or friends and everybody else seems to be able to cook and eat virtually ANYTHING.

BTW, I can't eat beans at all. Peas, beans, lentils, soy milk---forget it.
