  • ReO2 Scleral Electrophoresis-based cleaning/disinfecting System

i ordered a ReO2 scleral electrophoresis-based cleaning system in my and everyone’s common quest for clean and comfortable scleral lenses.

Does anyone else have experience with this?

A Negative is that it will strip the Hydra-Peg coating. However this coating, I believe, only lasts 6-9 months anyways so I have good older lenses to try it on.

We have concerns about false or misleading advertising from this company including regarding the regulatory status of their scleral lens product. There are a lot of unanswered questions and personally speaking, I don't recommend it until we know more.

Thank Rebecca. I’ll give a review after I get it and press them for questions. I can’t imagine that the chemistry or by products would have any concern for eye health. Whether it damages the lens or not is an open question. I anticipate the dots being removed more quickly but I re-dot mine or replace them often anyway.

My concerns wouldn't be whether the products (it just uses saline) would be harmful but whether the process itself has been properly tested for safety & efficacy. They only have FDA clearance for soft lenses, not sclerals.
