Anyone have experience with impression-based sclerals or wavefront-guided HOA lenses?

My doctors at the Berkeley eye center have told me about these advanced lenses, but I am cautious about spending the money (insurance won’t cover them). If anyone has tried them I’d love to hear how the fit went and whether the improvements in fit and vision are actually delivered.
