You may consider starting a blog as your journal.
For those of us around before blogs became the fashion of the day, we kept our journal in the forums (Our dry eye stories).
I don't think there are any hard and fast rules but I think a blog is usefull for an ongoing account of your dry eye condition.
A post in a forum will attract more attention and is probably best used if you have a specific question or want to discuss a specific topic.
