anyone else use retin a? worried after reading the blog

ok so i have sjogrens as well as mgd.. no doc has ever told me not to use retin a-althogh i am not sure if i always put it down as a med... i have been taking it off and on for clear skin since about 2005... should i stop using it ? will it make a difference??/

i was told i prob got the mgd due to sjogrens--no one really knows..help

That's what's in Accutane which is a drug that is to blame for many a young person with dry eye on this board. Based on what Dr. Sullivan shared with me last fall, I sure would quit using any skin products with retinoic acid unless there's something you absolutely have to. I think it's appalling that it's so widely used in cosmetics even though apparently there's no solid evidence to say it even works.

also is alpha hydroxy acid safe to use? can't find anything about it and dry eyes on the net....
