  • Rosacea

    Hi!

Reading all stories in this forum helps (sometimes..),

At least I know the root to my dryeye - ocular rosacea. Interesting is that it seems to have little to do with the look of the skin or the eyes itself - when my face is "red" i could feel quite good in the eyes also when I have the worst of days with my eyes they don't always look red.

Since the root is the inflammation - I try to live as anti-inflammatory as possible, last 6 months have been very good only using a kind of night "cream" called VitaPOS and some times Hylo Gel drops daytime.. but now I'm in an downperiod last couple of days when no earlier working routine works .. or any drops seems to be enough. I hope it turns soon.

To all of you, - I hope your eyes gets better!

    Rgds,
    Mikael

I hope it turns for you soon too. Perhaps you need to try something different? Or maybe do what you've always done, but more frequently until it turns around for you?

My ocular rosacea has improved markedly over the last couple of months during the time I've been taking ciclosporin ointment and clonidine to control flushing/burning of my skin. I'm not sure which one is helping, or if there is benefit from combining treatments, but this is the first time in over 5 years my eyes have not been gritty and painful and I am able to use eyeliner without any irritation. Unfortunately the ciclosporin makes the eye surface feel quite sore, but the meibomian glands are working much better and producing oil freely now.
