I travel semi-regularly for work (driving trips) and I have recently realized that I have had RCE each time I am in a hotel room. It now seems that it may be more than a strange coincidence but I'm trying to figure out what is potentially causing this so I can try to avoid it. Any ideas?

Hi Katie,
I've found hotels tend to have some sort of air-con which would definitely be the culprit.
See if theres a way to switch it off.
take a travel humidifier with you (or leave the shower on for a while before bed)
and an eyemask
and nightly lubricants
Also theres the travel to the hotels.
Since you are driving if you have the air con or heating on, it will dry your eyes out rapidly so use it sparingly.
Flying is also bad but not applicable in your case.
As long as you are aware of these factors and what you can do to offset them, you should be able to improve matters.
Good luck!

I agree with Tempestuous. I used to travel a lot (flying in my case) and the overheated hotel rooms in the winter got me every time.
I'd wear eye protection both in the car and in the hotel room. Also I think some people here have car humidifiers.Rebecca Petris
