  • Wish me luck please....

I am going to add two more Ophthalmologists to the long list of those I've already seen. This coming Friday I am going to see a doctor who specializes in "lid disease and the lacrimal system". I am hoping he can give me a definitive answer about whether or not I have ocular rosacea and what kind of blepharitis I have, or even if it may be those demodex mites causing my problems. I'm also trying to figure out if I have evaporative dry eye or if I am aqueaous deficient.

Then next Tuesday I am seeing another doc in the same group who uses the TearLab machine that Rebecca mentioned in a recent newsletter. He specializes in "instructional study and treatment regarding dry eye syndrome."

So...I am praying that either one or both of these guys can give me some definitive answers as well as provide some relief for me. I have typed out a long list of questions for them along with all of the different drops (Rx and OTC) and treatments I've used. I've had chronically red, dry eyes now for almost 7 years and am really getting tired of it.

I wish you the very best of luck with these new doctors... I hope that collectively they may meet not just your expectations (those have been beaten out of most of us ) but your hopes too.

I know I'm a totally broken record about these things but... I'd encourage you to fax that list the day before, and also to pester the receptionist about making sure there is extra time scheduled for you to talk with the doctors.

Hi. I too always bring a list of questions and all my records to my doctors. Also what I have tried and what works and does not. A side note have you been to a dermatologist? I just ask because when the eye doc though I had rosacea cause I too have bleph anyhow he had me to go to one. Also the allergist.

I wish you the best of luck, seven years is too long. You are fortunate to live in an area with these specialists, I live somewhat rural, and Seattle is a couple hour drive, I do hope that these docs will clearly know your best course of action.
