Clear up the confusion

This thread got very confused. I'll try to straighten it out.

Never use tap water IN your eyes. Use saline or eyedrops to moisten your eyes.

Use distilled water or boiled water to moisten the foam in your goggles. But don't put the water in your eyes.

I think this was the point. Correct me if I'm wrong Rebecca.
