I just got my pair and tried them last night (the clear one).
I really liked them. First off the strap while not particularly polished looking is definitely a lot better at holding it on. It has elastic, which helps a lot. Then, the design is such that you don't have any potential for the edges of the silicone to dig into your skin (as the quartz/onyix can do for some people). It's all flattened out spread across the skin. Cool and smooth, nothing irritating at all.
They fit ME pretty much perfectly. I'll be interested to hear how the fit works for others.
The only practical trouble I had with them was hair! There's a top flap thing that sticks way up. You need both hands to put it on so it's a little bit tricky doing that while trying to hold your bangs out of the way. Once I got it in place it was OK.
When I took them off in the morning, they were steamed up and had lots of water droplets. My quartz do that too, but there was a lot more on this one. It really does form a much better seal than the quartz, so if you're looking for something that does NOT have foam but will really seal you in, this will do it.
As far as efficacy goes... I'm in kind of a hard place to judge right now. My left eye was still really bad in the morning but it's in a state right now where practically nothing works at all so I did not expect any improvement. My right eye felt about like it does when I wear Quartz, maybe a little better. I'll know more when I've been using it longer. I'm definitely motivated to keep using this rather than the Quartz.
It's always a good idea to show your doctor any night gear like this that you're using, but I think even more important with this kind of thing that's relatively airtight. If you have any low grade infection or other complicated things going on, should probably get a nod from the doctor before attempting to use IMO.
