Expressing upper eyelids

Hi,

Have you ever gotten your upper eyelids expressed by a doctor?
Do you express your upper eyelids at home? If so, how?

I can express my lower eyelids successfully, but whenever I try my uppers, nothing ever flows. Is that normal? Probably not.

Yes, a doc has expressed my upper lids before. My upper glands are a lot less plugged then my lowers. My lowers are atrophied in spots. For the uppers I use a qtip and press down on the white part of my eye. This was learned from Dr. L's book. The lowers are a lot harder for me using that technique and I am looking for something that just pinches the lids together. How often do you express your lids and do you think it helps?

I'm in the exact opposite. I can barely get anything out of my uppers. I wonder if they're blocked? I use tiny plastic blunt tweezers that are meant for picking up contact lenses. I think it helps, but I read that we should only be doing it once a week..

It take a while of doing the uppers before oil comes out maybe a couple of weeks?
