  • did your cautery cause a notch or shrunken area?

Those of you who have had cautery, did the cauterized area shrink down into a little crater? Did you lose any eyelid tissue at all?

Also, I've asked about this before with no response: has anyone here ever had partial cautery done? How did it go? Is there a chance that the cautery would open up even bigger than before?

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier zuzu. These questions are very important. In my view cautery is a surgical procedure, part of your flesh is being permanently altered and you want to know what the ongoing issues could be. After all, you've suffered enough already with dry eyes. Personally, I've been avoiding cautery despite a few occuloplastic surgeons recommending it.
With partial cautery, what would be the advantage of it? To prevent tear overflow? Often, you hear members on here saying their cautery failed and they are not retaining the tears. So a full cautery becomes a partial cautery
