A friend recently told me her father had a plugged tear duct (the tear producing duct), which the eye doctor cleaned out. She said he had a very dry eye, but after the passage was cleaned out, he was fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Do eye doctors regularly check for this when treating dry eye? How would one tell whether or not they have a plugged tear producing duct?
