    Happy New Year Cobra!

I had a birthday on 31st December... I have been so busy these days, sorry I could not reply earlier...

Thank you for your beautiful message, and thank you for reasserting our hope and strength in prayer and in the power of divine love...

Like I said before, adenovirus takes months to heal, especially with an overactive immune system like yours; you also mentioned you had something like "ripped off" your eye lid or the surface of your eye-- well it was the "veil" that this virus forms on the conjuctivas- but do not worry at all, as this specific virus leaves absolutely no damage to the eyes, it is a self- limiting infection although takes long time for recovery! I look forward to the time when you will write on this forum that your dryness has disappeared and your eyes are as healthy as ever! I wish that happens in teh early 2010, and I wish you ,any new happy healthy years to come!

God bless you and protect you... you are a wonderful person

I'm coming in late to this discussion --
My Beph/MGD/DE commenced 3 years ago with an acute eye infection that I got from a baby grandson whose Dr had told the mother it was viral
On reading these posts -- It was most likely adenovirus
This means I have had this infection which has presumably cleared up and left me with this permenant inflamation of the eyelids

I wonder if I had been treated at the early stages with zoviax / doxycillen could i have prevented this chronic condition ?

It is too late now -- Anyway I too thank God through Jesus that after much prayer i have my condition well "under control "
I have found things that have really helped me(see my profile for explanations)

I still have faith to believe I could be completely clear
and wonder if in thelight of this info I could have been better treated initially

However it is pointless to ask this now

Anybody out there that suspects they might have adenovirus - I would advise you to ask your Dr for the apropriate tests and treatment early

Well today was a bit of a bummer, but I'm trying to be strong and optimistic and I will continue to ask the Lord Jesus Christ for strength and faith.

My doctor isn't sure anymore that I have an adenovirus infection in both eyes. She feels that my immune system is continuing to attack my eyes. She's not sure when that will stop but she stated that at some point the immune system will stop attacking. She tried getting me to remove the bandage lenses off once and for all, but I was too scared and I asked her to wait another month before forcing me to take them off. When they are taken off my eyes to examine my eyes, the surface of my eyes feels a bit rough. I'm hoping that the Pred Forte will improve the feeling of the surface of the eye since she reported that some of the inflammation went down. She feels I have a chance to get 50-60% of my tear production back but this could only occur once the surface of the eye starts to heal. I'm more frightened now than before, but I'm not losing my hope. Hopefully I will continue to improve and I'm going to keep praying that my immune system stops attacking my eyes. I'm going to look into getting a pair of Wiley X glasses to see if it helps my dry eye condition. Its tough not hearing the news I want to hear but this is the hand that I've been dealt. I wish my body didn't react this way but what can I do. Hopefully I will see improvement month to month like so many of you have with your differing ailments. Unfortunately, I'll probably lose my job now but I have to focus on being positive and hopeful that I will be in better shape a few months from now. Wish I had better news. Please keep me in your prayers folks.
