  • Hello

    Hello,

    My ocular diagnoses are:
Meibomian gland disease in my right eye, Keratoconjunctivitis sicca bi-lateral, monocular vision, dry eye syndrome, and corneal edema in my right eye.
I was prescribed and wear moisture chamber glasses. Thank goodness The Lions Club covered the costs.

I live on a fixed income awaiting my federal social security disability hearing appeal. (I have other medical disabilities due to an auto accident.)

My dry eye condition requires serum tears 4x a day plus Xiidra and Restasis 2x a day. In addition to warm eye mask treatments several times a day and dry eye ointment. And my eye pain fluctuates from a 5 - 10 on the pain scale. But that's an improvement from a 10 every day. I still experience gritty, blurry, and watery eyes. And I'm not sure how often I can participate due to my symptoms.

I'm looking forward to correspondence with others who are experiencing dry eye disease/syndrome.

Socially I come across a lot of people who tell me their eyes get dry. And I want to laugh because my upper and lower tear ducts have been cauterized closed. So I don't see how they can identify with my struggle.

    That's it for me.

    Toni
