I've had a great experience with Dr. Saloom in Baton Rouge. I went to several eye doctors to get plugs, and they only did the kind where the tip rests outside the tear duct and it seriously irritated my eyes. My tear ducts sit further in than some so this was just not an option after I tried several different times with different size ducts. I didn't want to cauterize and I was nervous about doing some of the newer "buried" plugs. Dr. Saloom used the same plug as the other doctors, but just simply buried them a little further in and I have had them for 2.5 years and wouldn't know they are there. If they ever get to be a problem he could simply flush them out. My comfort level has improved drastically. I have very poor tear film exacerbated by ocular rosacea, and this has been a great solution.
