  • Can you used Restasis and Pataday together?

I am currently on Retsasis 2x a day.
I went to an allergry specialist because I was having an allergic reaction to something (i wont go into details about THAT, but it was horrible!)
And we figured out I am allergic to every weed, grass, and tree in Texas!!
also with a mild allergy to MILK! UGH.
She perscribed me Nasonex and PATADAY.
I was wondering if PATADAY and Restasis can be used together?

I have a bit of hope if i get some allergy shots/treatment along with pataday and restasis, my eye problems with substancially decline. But I am not counting on it.

    Thank you guys!

Shouldn't be any problem with using both though as with all drops, allow 10-15 minutes after applying one before you apply the other.

Best of luck with your progress!

Nasonex increases cataract risk and DES?

I've been watching ads for Nasonex on the TV lately, and their list of side effects includes "may cause cataract development". Anyone know anything about that? I also did read somewhere that Nasonex increases DES severity. Has anyone heard anything about these side effects?

I use Restasis 2 times a day and Pataday once a day. I have had no issues. As Rebecca says, wait 15 minutes between drops.

Which do you put in first? Just wondering I out Restasis first, but I heard pataday "dries" out you eyes, so Restasis should help put moisture back in, but Restasis Burns and inflames my eyes still, so used pataday after it to help.relieve it or so I hope it does. Lol

I put the Restasis in first. Just out of habit I guess. I have tried so many drops over the past two years. Always put in the Restasis and then whatever the doctor has put me on after that.

I have been on Restasis for 7 months. They still burn when I put them in. I just saw another eye dr. Last Friday. She told me to stop the Pataday. She thinks it is too drying. she put me on a new drop regimen. I asked her if I should continue with the restasis. She asked me if I thought it was helping. I honestly can't say as my eyes have actually gotten worse over the last several months. She told me to stop it for the time being.

Thats how I feel only being on it for a month, I feel that im using more and more drops as the days go on, but i dont know if its the change of weather, allergies or anyting

im going to actually see a cornea specialist this thursday to get a second opinion on things b/c all my current opthamologist does is tell me its b/c of lasik....what if it isnt? what if there's something more to it than lasik!

My doctor told me that it takes 4 to 6 months to see improvement from restasis. I was on it for over 7 months. It will be interesting to see how I will feel being off of it. Good luck with the corneal specialist this week.

                            Vivian,

If you don't mind me asking, what corneal specialist are you seeing? You live in the Dallas area right? I have been looking for another specialist in Dallas and can't seem to find one that specializes in dry eye besides Dr. Gemoules.
