If someone has MGD, I would assume that they would water or have a bit of epiphora here and there. However, that does not seem to be the case. I have met people with dry MGD eyes and no watering. Does anyone know why?
I understand why aqueous deficient eyes rarely water but MGD dry eye patients have normal lacrimal glands.
In my case, I have reflex tears but they only arise for three reasons: poke in the eye (accidental, of course!), getting an irritant in the eye (e.g. accidentally leaking some tea tree oil wipes into the eyes) or mild wind (strong wind blows away all the tears).
