as for the symptomps, they are all normal. I dont know what to suggest you really besides maybe putting good drops like systane balance. Tea is good for stress and keep exercising. Aside from that there are no really secrets for symptoms. Fatigue is something I struggled with as well in the very beginning now it has improved because I keep exercising.

You just said you had an eye infection well it might be due to all of that. If it still doesnt heal it means you have dry eye and its something that can be healed with time.
How on earth is staying away from the computer not good? And also doctor specifically said no exercise at the moment.

I put the antibacterial drops in my eyes, they stung a lot for a minute or so, after that I felt better.

And I am still unsure about the effects of Systane Balance, I put it an hour ago, and now my head feels really hot again and the eyes a bit stingy, I don't know if it is due to Systane Balance or not, doctor said I should keep using it, but since it has not made my condition any better for two weeks now, I just don't see the point of using it any further, because if it does not help then all it can do is harm. Also I am concerned perhaps my Systane are contaminated? How will I know if they are or arent?

You have to figure out in the next weeks if its an infection or dry eye. An infection might just go away with a drop like maxidex or antibiotics. Again you already have a huge advantage on new dry eye sufferers because you know now how to heal it. You need to stay away from the computer or screens like mobile for 3-5 months and work on diet and it will go away. The fact that dry eye isnt healable is completely FALSE and I read it in a few times.

It depends on your diagnosis some people here have different dry eye diagnoses that wouldnt heal with just screens abstinence. I am not saying staying away from the computer isnt good I am just saying for the moment being you have to expirement. Reality is that dry eye has no effects on your overall health even if you are on the computer 10 hours. All it will do is make it hard on you due to symptoms and you will feel the pain and everything.

Yea I guess I will experiment... I will make a completely computer free day soon to see if it improves. Also tomorrow I will not use Systane Balance for half a day, and put it only once afternoon, then I will see more directly how it affects me.
I am still extremely frustrated though, still thinking about suicide a lot, I am really at a point now where I dont even care anymore I just want the pain to go away, my life is not worth that much to me anymore because I have had a crappy life since forever. And im not afraid of death because we all die anyway, Im more curious about it.

Yeah mentally its hard at the beginning but I promise you, you will deal with it soon. You should private message me as I dont like your suicidal thougths, I will help you out. Im about your age and let me tell you im the best person to give you tips. If you want my honest opinion, dry eye is nothing and its even healable. You are just feeling the symptoms its normal at the beginning phase. It will just make you stronger in life. Like I said figure out if its just an infection at first.

How do I figure it out? I went to doctor today, she said yes I have an infection, but that I also have dry eye and she thought if I use the dry eye drops the infection will go away too, the infection has gotten worse, But I got antibiotics now so infection should go away most certainly, we will see how I feel then after that. And I feel suicidal only because I am in such suffering at the moment, once I feel better I will not be suicidal anymore, but right now its just unbearable.

I felt compelled to write to this thread. Skizzy, I have had this issue for three years in July. I felt the same way you do at first. I was confused, scared and desperate. You learn to be patient with treatments and most do offer relief eventually. It takes time, a lot of time. I know you want to feel better NOW and I did too, but little by little I did start to feel better. The anxiety will lessen. I know because I have an anxiety disorder too. I am only 25. Anti-depressants helped me a lot to cope. I still take them. I am not cured, my eyes actually burn right now but I have more good days then bad...

Do you have any redness of the face at all.? How many times do you need tears per day?

Anxiety is not my problem its a symptom, I have done a lot over the past three years to lessen my anxiety, antidepressants dont work, only healthy lifestyle helps against that.

And I dont even know how much I need the tears, my doctor just told me to use them so I did, actually I dont feel like they are helping at all, I dont feel anything. Right now Im just trying to get rid of the infection. And yes my face gets really hot sometimes, and a bit red. Also I have chronic nasal congestion, but Ive had this for years so I dont see how its related, but I will ask my doctor about it next time, its probably due to nasal polyps, I will go to nose doctor too to get their opinion. Most importantly I must change the lifestyle end environment. And man I am actually expert in anxiety, you must change lifestyle antidepressants are not gonna help you. You must start living completely healthy lifestyle, with a lot of exercise and healthy diet no smoke no alcohol, no fatigue.

The antibiotics definitely have made me feel better, I do not understand why they didnt give me these before but only after three weeks of suffering... I hope I make a full recovery. Tomorrow doctor again to see how my body is reacting to the antibiotics .

And I must demand answers why I wasnt given antibiotics before, could there be permanent damage because of it?

The antibiotics seem to have improved my condition drastically.... I am still completely baffled why didn't the doctor give me the antibiotics before and they let me suffer for three weeks??? Can anyone explain why on earth would they do something like that??

Because you didn't have a red eye, I guess they didn't think it was bacterial. Antibacterials also have an anti-inflammatory effect. So glad you're feeling better and back in control of your life...

yeah but could there be any permanent damage for not treating it fast enough of prolonged usage of eye drops with preservatives?

Cornea is the fastest regenerating part of the body, especially when the conditions are better. It heals from the limbus and also new cells move up from layers beneath. I think. So your eye regenerates. Long-term damage might be from contact lens overwear if the nature of the cells at the limbus has changed. Otherwise, you're healing.

I havent wore the lenses during this ordeal... and in total I have used them for 5 years. But I can quit them if thats what it takes, altho ive never had a problem with them before, eyes just get tired a bit faster with lenses but overall I can use them for 10 hours a day without a problem.

Skizzy, now you're feeling better, can you help find a dry eye doc for Dominorose in Paris or northern France? I'm getting the usual hospitals but she can't get access without a long wait. Is there anyone specialising in dry eye in Paris you can find on the internet, maybe an Optometrist who can help her access a specialist doc?
