After a while the positive effect decreased. In December I started doing acupuncture and a detox diet.
After three months of dieting my eyes began to improve (very slowly).
Then the doctor began to decline 10,000 ui of Vitamin D per month.
Currently I'm 40.000ui. The goal is to reach zero or a low dose just to let my body balanced without the risk of poisoning.
I'm writing this so you can draw your own conclusions. At the time I assumed the risk of ingesting high doses of vitamin D. More experienced users (thanks saag and smpcc) and a lot of reading warned me about the risk of poisoning.
Today I think it is better balance our body than use a super dose of something. But I think a bit of trial and error is valid.

Hi all,
Some news!
I've spent some time checking at my inner lid margins and outer, and just realized I had small spots on the outer lids, near the eyelashes...it really looks like anterior blepharitis, but I can't see any crusty discharges in the lashes... what do you guys think? thank you

Hi Andre,
In this post you mention eye drops not having much effect if you dont cut cycle of inflammation, how have you done this? Is this through detoxing?
Many thanks
Cath

I think you really have some dysfunction of the Meibomian glands .
Look for some photos on the internet about MGD and compare with your case .
I can not say about blepharitis , because I never read enough on the subject .
I've had these symptoms , but now my glands are clogged . I have no sticky feeling .
The funny thing is that until a while ago my Meibomian glands were functioning better. It's a big puzzle .
With what you are cleaning the edges of your eyelids ? I am using BLEPHAGEL ,
Perhaps a more viscous eye drops help to keep your eyes best while you wait to consult a doctor. Prefer the drops without preservatives . As Hylo gel or tears Oasis Plus (there are others).
A big problem I had is that when the eyes are in a box big inflammation, eye drops do not have much effect , it was necessary to cut the inflammatory cycle before .
Also try to perform an examination to know the levels of vitamin D. Low levels of vitamin D may be correlated with the ease inflamed eyes ( and various other things . )27, pinguecula, dry eye, Wirral, UK

Cathy, last year I stopped the inflammatory cycle with ALREX or some other steroid. But after some time my eyes no longer responded so well to these drugs. Currently, after I get into the diet, my eyes has followed a constant. So I believe that the diet helped me a lot with that too. Currently I only have spikes of pain (and redness) when the weather is dry and I sleep badly.
However the diet helped me more with pain than in redness. I still have that face who just woke up most of the time. While this has also improved.

Some news, just to have your opinions...
My symptoms have changed.
The foreign body sensation is just mild now, and I don't have to use drops more than 3/4 x a day, so thats a really good thing. But now my lid margins are always greasy, kinda sticky when I blink, and I've noticed I got white mucus discharge in the corners of my eyes. And now my eyes itch a lot and really often.
I also have "generalized rash" over my whole body, especially at night. Dont know if its psychological... But it really looks like an infection or allergy.
Got my results for SSA SSB antibodies and theyre negative so thats a real relief cause I thought I could have Sjogren...

Just a quick question:
My eyes are now really "oily", I dont know if it is bc Ive switched from cold to warm compresses, but that's really new for me. I can see tiny bubbles near my lower lid margins. After the warm compresses I massage my lids but cant see any oil coming out, just a lot of clear oil in the conjunctival sac. Am I the only one? What does it mean?

Hello
Sorry to butt in but could having a virus cause dry eye? I had a really bad virus over feb march and April which causes a sore throat and constant ear ache, still got some of the symptoms, I'm just wondering if this could of been responsible for the sudden severe change in my dry eye. It's all so confusing, thanks, cath

Hi Andre, thank you for you reply, it's really useful for me, my eyes were severely inflamed and I was not prescribed anything to help with this by two olphalmologists. Thanks
