  • Intestinal Overgrowth

I know the following isn't a highly technical medical publication, but it gave me pause for thought regarding intestinal overgrowth and ocular Rosacea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosacea. I started considering how important food is in controlling my eye problems, and have narrowed the food down to three major problem categories: sugar, carbs and dairy products. It is a shame that Rifaximin is only cleared by the FDA in the US to treat traveler's diarrhea. I truly think it might make a big difference in my eye situation, and to others as well. I read that the cost without insurance coverage is about $28 per pill. If you are in the UK, or elsewhere and have ocular Rosacea, it might be worth a try.

I've always kind of believed this... Such an interesting article!! Whenever I start treating candida, I am much better.

I found this article from May 2014 entitled "Herbal Therapy Is Equivalent to Rifaximin for the Treatment of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth" (abstract: http://www.gahmj.com/doi/abs/10.7453/gahmj.2014.019)

But I don't really know what "herbal therapy" means!!

So then I found this website on SIBO: http://www.siboinfo.com/herbal-antibiotics.html.

They mention the Johns Hopkins study and talk about different herbal therapy "recipes".

      Perhaps something there will help?
