    • Happy Flag Day!

Hello friends haven't been on here much but wanted all ya'll to know that I am still in Idaho, eyes still the same, dry as bones and mucus strings galore But I was thank-ful for today, a beautiful crystal clear blue sky, sun a blazin, our real first day of Spring, it's been raining non-stop and cold so I was enjoying the sun and the feel of Spring, we will have a late Summer so who knows maybe that will mean it will last longer lol? Hope all ya'll are doing good, feel free to vent on me if you need to. I am still doing the Muro 128 eye drops and preservative free drops daily. I am do for my yearly eye check-up I always get really nervous as I've got Severe Lattice Degeneration, so once I go I will let ya'll know how my eyes are. Hope everyone is hanging in there. • Good to hear from you Delilah! Sorry you are still battling those strings and bad dry eye.
We had a lovely sunny day today too after lots of rain. (Winter here) A little bit of frost but that sun is so lovely and so wind either. We're almost to the shortest day!
My eyes went mucusy with face nerve pain about 3 months ago - we were having a drought - and Dr put me on doxy. The eyes became manageable but now I'm trying to get my stomach feeling better - could only take doxy for 3 weeks. Unfortunately I also had a course of antibiotics because I stood on a nail (thats OK now) and all that must upset the balance in my tum. Don't want to get an ulcer so I have pulled out all the stops with all things to help the tum. All this wet weather has helped my eyes too. But I had a wonderful late night on Saturday(a whodunnit evening - 70s era and it turned out that I did the murder of Stan A Live) and that upset the eyes for a couple of days! So glad that I have managed to get out of that mucusy stage again tho. Still on Theratears and Alcon Poly Gel and fish oil and lid massage every day.
        Cheers everyone!
        Dot

Sounds like you've been batteling a lot you poor thing Our weather has been ridiculous! Today it's been in the 50's First day of Summer is on the 20th, Idaho has never seen this before, it's usually hot and sunny, windows open but it's the Global warming which no one believes, it's scary. If you get the mucus in your eyes try the Muro 128 eye drops, they do help. Hope your tummy gets to feeling better to, I've got a load of problems with mine. Keep in touch. Your buddy D

          • Hello Friends!

It's been months since I posted so I thought I would let ya'll know that I finally went to my eye doc due to an eye infection, it was very weird as I've been dealing with a great deal of emotional stress which I will not go into detail but let's just say I've been trying to be tough and I hadn't cried for about 2 months! So finally I broke down one morning and cried my eyes out, I felt this horrible awful burning then I went and put my Muro 128 and Preservative Free eye drops in. I even did a warm compress as I started noticing these splinter white things coming out of my eyes? It hurt and I couldn't even blink, I was so terrified I seriously thought of going to the ER!!

This lasted for hours, fell asleep then I was okay but noticed thick mucus even worse than my eye strings, pretty soon with enuff monkey business and me fooling with my eyes they were offically infected. I was due for an eye exam hadn't seen my eye doc for 2 years I had been avoiding it because I was afraid of hearing that my Lattice Degeneration was worse, but I got my eye drops cured the infection and good news is that my LD is stable eyes not worse still the same and when I explained to my eye doc about the not crying for 2 months then crying and what happened he said that he didn't have an answer as to why those splinter things came out but I never knew this when he told me I was in total shock!

He said the normal wetness of our eyes is totally different than our tears when we cry from emotional distress and the tears are totally different when we cry if we hurt ourselves Tears of joy are different and the list goes on so what in the heck is that all about friends? My only guess is from me trying to be tough and not cry along with having severe dry eye maybe they like froze into those splinter things, when I cried it hurt so bad so now I am back to being a walking tear bag lol. Okay not that big of a ball baby but I am over empathetic and things get to me, I cry easily and was tired of being a big baby.

Only to find out what happens if I hold back, not sure if that would happen with a person with normal eyes or if that is just the reaction we Dry Eye people get? Also my eye lashes have been falling out and growing very weird and I would like to know what I can use or take to make them better, my regimen is continous through out the day, I am constantly having to put in the eye drops and wetting my eyes, then wiping with a fresh clean cloth causing my upper and lower eye lids to become extremely dry then I put on eye cream but it's not helping? Sorry for such a long post, hope all is well with all ya'll, besides that life is as good as it will get, I am grateful for what I have but if there is a next life hopefully I can have normal eyes? Your buddy D

I woke up with my lashes all crudded over from putting on too much Dwelle without blotting, but my eyes felt good and they feel good now. I've been using (and loving) my little 5mL saline tubes because I can't find Unisol anywhere (well to be fair I haven't looked everywhere yet) and haven't ordered online because I'm still holding out hope.

Haven't started my Christmas shopping yet
I'm doing ok today. My right eye is sloshing a bit, as per usual. I have had my contacts in for 4 1/2 hours and I think that will be it for the day. I really need to get my prescription evaluated, I can't see with the darn things! Rebecca, you might check Rite Aid if you have not done so yet. I believe that is where I got Unisol. I finished my Christmas shopping today, now for the wrapping. Have fun all!

Hello everyone Delilah here in Idaho...So sorry it's been so long I've posted or checked in. I've been so busy, my eyes are still the same, drye as bones and the mucus eye strings are still there. I still use Muro 128 and preservative free eye drops. Happy New Year to all of you and I hope that this year will bring some of you comfort w/all your eye troubles I've lost about 80 pounds since last year so that's a good thing and I had an endometrial ablation procedure done last July it's the best thing I've ever done because I didn't want to go through the painful procedure of a hysterectomy. I will try my hardest to check in more often. Hope everyone is doing good. Love your friend Delilah

                  • Daily Check In

                    Hello All -

Today (Feb 4th) was actually a really good day for me and I have no idea why.

My occular allergies were non exsistent and only used atificials tears once at work and that was more from habit then anything else. Used them once in the evening. My eyes were white looking all day except for the morning.

Nothing changed that I am aware of, did not even hot pack the night before or in the morning.

It at least was a good day and wanted to post some positivity.

                    Todd

                      • I love Muro ointment. I am a victim of RCE's and so far it has helped greatly as well as feeling great @ might in my eyes. I buffer w/ Systane Balance restorative about 5-10 minutes prior. Good luck. Just as an aside, never had debridement or bandage lens but my eyes are seriously bad nevertheless. Take good care of yourself! Also, never tried Muro drops, heard they burn but for me, Muro oint is fab!

                        • I don't know if this is still an active thread. But I'm scared, I have something worsening in one of my eyes, and I would love to talk to someone about it. I'm having a blank spot developing in my central vision. I can see in the focal area initially, for about a second, then it goes blank. Unless I close that eye and rest it, and try again, I cannot see the central letter, or whatever it is I'm looking at. And when it reappears, it's only for a second. I'm scared it's macular degeneration, or that something else really bad is happening. Anybody else experienced this?

                          • mgshutterbug,
I would see an eye doctor asap...don't need to alarm you but that is one of the signs of macular degeneration and or retina issues. These can be fixed/helped with early treatment.

                            • Not sure if this thread is still active, but just feel like pouring out.

Eyes feel worse today with permanent silicone plugs in. Am giving my eyes time to adjust though. I thought when temporary dissolvable plugs helped, permanent ones should help even better. How weird?!

I am trying not to go back "there" where I feel regretful of my lasik decision. How I wished I can turn back the clock and back to the contact lens and spectacle days. Then, I will lavish on many different beautiful spectacles.... ok, stop talking of the past.

Something positive - checked with opth. on floaters. Thank God that my retina are good and healthy; at least one thing off my mind and can read books to my kids

Hope that this thread will be active again ...

                              • TeaLeaf, you will get better. I know what you mean about regrets and looking back, but what is done is done. And done people have good results with LASIK, so you can't be too harsh with yourself. Hindsight is amazing, right? Sorry to hear your plugs are unconfortable, hope they settle down. Keep going, you are getting help and something will work!
