I noticed with all the medication ads the new dry eye drops, Meibo. Has anyone tried these yet? I'm on restasis for a long time and it has helped me tremendously. My eyed doc put me on them a few years ago, prollly around 10 years ago, when my dry eye got severe again due to worries I would have eye and vision damage. So likely I will stay on that forever. The copay is cheaper now to due to it becoming generic, however the box still says restasis on it although for a while it said cyclosporine.
Has anyone tried Meibo, and did it help you?
I don't know the real cause of mine. Pre type 1 d the dry eye doc thought it was ocular roseacea and steroid drops were a huge help, but now new doc thinks it is autoimmune although not sjorgen's etc. I went to another supposed specialist here then who was terrible who said I didn't have lack of tears but found they were evaporating fast, and did zip for me. Fortunately my regular eye doc had me try restasis which helped tremendously. He said the diagnosis is based on things like rapid tear evaporation etc. lol.
It all started when I was getting type1 and my whole body was inflamed too with bladder inflammation.
Thank goodness for restasis and that it helped me a lot. The first dry eye doc years ago didn't want me on that due to all the inflammation at the time. When I was put on insulin during dka it helped a lot. But then the dry eye came back and I was waking up all night with very dry eye balls, even with the tranquil eyes and fresh kote etc.
