McGill University Study: Call for survey participants

I took it a few weeks ago. Yes, it *is* hard on the eyes! I had my DEZ blinker there to help me, though. :-)

I have hard copies of the study. If anybody is interested, you can send me an email and I can mail them to you. That way you can take breaks--it's much easier on the eyes!

I filled out this survey a day or two ago. Yes, it did take considerable time, and not surprisingly, my unreliable internet connection did cut out once during the endeavor. However, (a) the data was apparently recovered in mid-answer, and (b) I have spent a lot more time than this dropping drops and traveling to various supposed specialists in pursuit of help for my problems. Therefore I was willing to give this academic study a try in the hopes of helping somebody else (or maybe even me).

If your eyes or your 'puter are not up to filling out this entire survey, Dr. Wendy Wood has offered to send you a hard copy. Please take her up on the offer.

I wrote to Dr. Wood today expressing concerns about some of the questions, and received an immediate (and IMHO, sensible) reply. Therefore I'd like to support this endeavor, and hope that more of our membership will as well.

I just filled it out. For some reason my computer decided to restart itself half way through, but I believe my answers were also saved! Or atleast when I clicked on the link above again, it took me to the spot I had left off. Thank goodness!

I found the survey really difficult to do -- to keep going to the top to see if you strongly agree/agree/disagree etc then back down to the question -- not very easy on the eyes even though my problem has subsided considerably.

Will try again tomorrow though

I see you what you mean and I will fix it this weekend, so it will be easier for people to fill out! Thanks for the feedback! This is the first of several studies I'm conducting on dry eyes, with the goal of informing mental health professionals (and medical professionals) as to how to better help people living with DES! That said, your participation is greatly appreciated! have just done the survey and hope it will help others.

My personal learning during the last 10 months is : I need to be much more careful to be close to myself and avoid stressful situations, i.e. those which do not suit my personality well. I am 59 now, and not far away anymore from retirement age, which I consider a privilege under these given circumstances. This makes it much easier for me to put my learning into practice. For anybody much younger and eager to pursue a carrier it might be more a challenge to avoid stressful situations.

But anyway, hopefully we will get some day the miraculous drops that solves our problems.
