I know different people, have different levels of success with one type of scleral lens vs another. Perhaps I am missing something, but taking into account the price point, his expertise and the unique technology - why wouldn't LaserFit be a persons first logical port of call?

Trentster I agree about DrG being the go-to specialist when it comes to customizing optics in any of these challenging cases. Heck I'd probably trust him with that even if he were using a hacksaw and PMMA. But a lot of the people on this forum that talk about sclerals are really pursuing them exclusively for ocular surface disease/dry eye. Different animal. Numbers wise BFS has the lion's share of experience dealing with the GvHD, SJS etc crowd and it's easier to consider pursuing something when there are more patients around (well, visible on the web at least) who have trod that same path and that you can use as benchmarks to get some idea how it might go for you. BFS is an entire 'institution' of sorts, and people sometimes post pretty much anything they want for and against PROSE here, without having to mention any individual doctor, but when it comes to solo eyecare practitioners, there tends to be less frank back-and-forth discussion online as it can be uncomfortable for patients and their doctors even if they're writing under a pseudonym.

Any updates on how you are doing with your new lenses?

I just have a right lens. My left eye is still too inflamed to wear a lens or be fitted... waiting surgery later this year. The right lens is doing very well. Interestingly this lens is definitely more difficult for me to insert correctly than my PROSE... with EPP, orientation matters bigtime and so it was a very new thing to me to have to try a few times to get it right. When I first put it in in the AM, it's not always immediately obvious whether discomfort is just the usual "I've got a thing in my right eye and nothing in my left" type awareness that will pass off in ten minutes versus discomfort from poor orientation or maybe even tiny bubble.

But, throughout the day the vision and comfort continue to be excellent. Generally I'm not aware of having anything in my right eye, which is super. I have not had to limit my wear time in any way. On the other hand I AM very aware of my stupid inflamed goopy stringy dripping left eye (grrrr).

I'm interested in the replacement costs for an eyeprintpro lens. And does the initial fitting fee include follow-ups and adjustments for a certain period of time?

I don't actually know the cost of the replacement EPP lenses. Just the overall initial cost they quoted me. As for if the initial cost includes everything you mentioned, yes, they were going to include all fittings to make sure you go home with a pair of lenses that work for you. Dr. Sindt, who developed these lenses was ever so nice to communicate with. She clearly cares about helping her patients. I would have worked with her if it wasn't for my desire to reduce the night time haze and glare with Dr. G's laserfit lenses. Why don't you write her a note (thru her website)? I'm sure she would be able to answer all your questions.

I have recently found out about the Eyeprint Pro scleral lenses, and heard some really great things about them. I was wondering if you were still using the lens and if so how would you evaluate it after all this time?

Has anyone else had any experience with these?

Hello, Rebecca or anyone who might have had experience with the Eyeprint Pro. I am on another round of online research to see if I can get scelerals fitted in my area, near Toronto, Canada, and this morning, I found a contact under sclerallens.org, who mentions on the website they are also offering Eyeprint Pro.

I am going to give them a call this morning and would like to know about any fellow DEZer's experience on this technology. Suddenly being a bit more hopeful again and thank you!
