Plugs for severe DES
I've plugged my lowers today. The caps are not bothering me much, maybe because I've used contacts for many years at a time when they were not as advanced as they are today. Hope the plugs will help me with my severe DES. I will also start with Restasis. Will be posting how things go from here.

Ciclosporin in the UK - update..and Restasis cost
I'm 8 months in to the severe dry eye experience and was set to try ciclosporin (also spelled cyclosporine/cyclosporin) aka the nearest thing the UK has to Restasis. I understand that up until very recently this drug was available on "special" prescription, from one place on in the UK only,...

My experience with MGD (part 2)
Hi everyone.
I started a thread about my experience with probing and lipiflow a while back. But it quickly became quite chaotic so I thought I'd start a new one. Also, I feel like my understanding of MGD has progressed a lot and I don't necessarily back all of the statements I made in the previous...

A restasis break?
It's been a long time since I was here, as my eyes have improved a lot in the past 1,5 years (since starting on restasis). I'm considering taking a restasis break for a few months, to see how my eyes will do without. I'm a little bit scared that my eyes will get worse and am not looking forward to fall...Last edited by Meike; 13-Nov-2013, 05:19.

Schrimer scores worse after treatments...?
After 10 months of restasis, 6 months of doxy, 8 months of warm compresses + expression 3x a day for 15-20 min, 8 months of being quadra-plugged, and 3 months of serum my eyes still feel like crap.
What's most strange is after all this treatments my schrimer scores are worse than before...

Cauterize top or bottom; it's decision time
Okay, so here's an update on my eye. I'm the idiot who had her right punctas cut open by a surgeon last year which gave me Instant Dry Eye on one side. I've tried Restasis twice now. First time stopped because lower lid swelled extremely and inside was blood-red. Waited several months then tried...

Restasis + Plugs observation...
So I've been using Restasis twice a day. One drop in the morning when i wake up and one in the even just before bed.
I usually put a drop in my eyes and keep them closed until the drop is gone.
I've noticed that before I had plugs, the drop would remain in my eyes for...

Restasis retards nerve regeneration????????????????
Okay I understand this was a study done on animals. But I'm realllllllly confused. I thought that the use of cyclosporine was supposed to help in the regeneration of nerves after refractive surgery?
Now it looks like it prevents the regeneration of nerves!!!
I'm so confused....

Does Cyclosporine/Restasis reduce eye size
I have been on Restasis 2 x day for three weeks now......My eye size or the surface area of eye exposed to air is significantly less than normal. I used restatis for a month an year ago and then too I felt the same.

Yet another Restasis Question!
So I finished using up my first box of Restasis yesterday.
I have used Restasis before and wasn't able to tolerate it very well, so I took maybe a couple months break from it and restarted.
The second time around I have felt I have been able to tolerate it much better. There have been...

Oily film on GP lenses with Restasis use
I am a long time GP contact lens wearer who has developed dry eye due to my contact use. My dr has prescribed restasis (as did two other docs over the past 5 or so years).. Each time I try it, I get a build up on my contacts that is flimy and oily. Nothing seems to help it. It is almost as if my...
