o2 days on castor oïl, its burns and make my eyes drier but i will go on.... very depressed today, mainly because of he Wilex Airrage, i just look like an alien, poeple look at me like wtf?
for information its Wilex Airrage with clear lenses + headband because otherwise they don't protect me. so its already difficult to wear those glasses but with the headband its an other dimension : ur face is crushed by the glasses, and the headband on your hair only add more weirdness. very very difficult to deal with, i only wear them on the road to school, but i wear them off when im close to school because i just don't want people to see me like that.
i walk fast and head down but really tired of this sh**

will post a picture for u to realize...

by the way 13 days since lipiflow, and nothing, will call the doc tomoroww.

Just so you know castor oil used to burn my eyes and make them red too. Now my eyes are used to it, and it helps with the inflammation. I use Restasis (which has castor oil) and refresh endura which also contains it. It took a few weeks to adjust.

let us know how it goes!

Hey Nicolas ~ which doctor is telling you to retry the burning castor oil eyedrop? is she an Ophthalmologist? does Dr Doan know what happened when you tried it? I would ask the doctors for copies of all letters they write about you, it's important and useful to have them.

just went to the doctor, she said Doctan DOAN had sent her a report of my visit: basically i had severe blepharitis+conjonctivitis pappilaris+sensitive eye+maybe allergic stuff and that he was trying on me Castor oïl ( i tried 2 day and it only burned and made my eyes redder...)
but she told me to retry it for a week to see if it do something so i will try tonight...

If possible, ask about autologous serum eyedrops. It is far from a cure, if only because it does not solve the problem of MGD. It's annoying, because it requires some care and you can not carry it everywhere. But it has helped me a lot.

Nicolas, have you got a decent regular Ophthalmologist on the job? That makes a huge difference to how we feel, we've found, even in flareup. What are you doing to relieve the burning and keep the eye surface good? Good luck with Wiley X Air Rage ~ works for Tom Cruise when he fixes his Mission Impossible. They have to help. We just got new classic black prescription Raybans with original dark green lens and they are mighty fine, though not wraparound. We are feeling for you here in London - what a * deal. Have you been swabbed/examined for microbial keratitis?

OKay quick report. so far so bad, my eyes are always burning like fire, every day is just a freaking hell, a real struggle for me. its been 7 days since Lipiflow and nothing good right now, very very worried/depressed about it.
my mom called the clinic of Lipiflow and she said 7 days is not enough to have any improvement... hmm weird, considering how many people feel better after lipiflow

trying to appear as normal as possible to others, to not stay alone, to socialize but really difficult considering that people are always outside (any Wind is very very bad for me) or worse(for my eyes) smoking.
i will receive my airrage tomorrow will see about this.
hoping for a mircle right now...

I wouldn't worry too much about increased pain in the first few days after treatment as I had that and got pretty worried but it soon eased up. Do contact the clinic where you had it done though if it is really worrying you as they may give some advice. I was told to place a cold flannel over my eyes and keep my eyes closed as much as possible! Lipiflow didn't work well for me but probably because I am also aqueous deficient. I really hope you see an improvement over the next days/ weeks.

okay okay i did lipiflow yesterday: the procedure in itself was pretty incomfortable for my left eye ( i feel like the stuff was not well placed on my eyes even if the doc said it was okay and i did not feel any pulsation in my left eye's lower eyelid)

after lipiflow i feel a bit normal for like 10 mn then burning restarted and i could not stand the Wind outside .

today was my first day of school, pretty awful eyewise.

so im pretty anxious about the results considering how hopefull and enthousiastic i was about this.

please those who had lipilow, tell me when u got better, need hope/help because i have tried everything now.

    Okay Lipiview review:

Received by doc ALOU - GANEM, a specialist in that stuff.
First of all she looked at my eyes with a slitlamp and said that my lids look very good to her, they are normals (no dandruff, styes or stuff like that) and thats a good thing because otherwise treatment would be more complicated.

She also said that all the treatments i have been doing for months ( DOXY, Blephasteam + massage+eye drop ect ) even if they did not make me conformtable, they preserved the good state of my eyelids.

Blink Analyser: hopefully i have read story about people blinking "better" than usually so i tried to blink normal and the result is that my blink is incomplete so she gave me Blinking exercises ( if you ask i can describe you ). She said that the contact beteween the upper and lower lid (even if it is not seeable, 1 milimetter is enough to give an incomplete blink) is not complete especially in the left eye.

Meibomian Gland Evaluator: then the doc pressed my glands with that little object to see the quality/quantity of oïl coming out. She said that my glands were blocked, tooth-paste like. So in my case Lipiflow is appropriate, but she told me that there is like 15 % of fail with Lipiflow. But im not scared about it, and she said that in my case it should work.
She also told me to continue anti-inflammatory eye drop at night+ anti allergy drops because allergy and dry eyes are very often linked.

Lipiflow is on Tuesday, so im very impatient and confident, i know it will work (or at least give me a little relief).

On the clinic where I did the lipiflow, they had told me the same. So, I pleaded that it would be impossible to stay so long without dripping drops (if I really could stay 24 h without eyedrops, I would have stayed. But to me it’s impossible). I asked them to check if it would be really necessary. Then they said that 4 hours would be enough.
After doing the Lipiview, the doctor told me I could have gotten less time. I don’t know if he said that as a general rule, or if he was referring specifically to my case.
If possible, check this information, because if you are already bad, staying so long without dripping drops can make you worse. It is obvious that our will is to follow exactly what they say, if only because the treatment is very expensive and we don’t want that a false diagnosis prevents us from doing the lipiflow.
Just one more thing. What is your level of Vitamin D? If it is low, it may increase the inflammatory process.
