I received my MEGS the other day! They exceeded my expectations looks-wise. From the front, they look like normal glasses... it's just from the side that you can tell something is unusual about them (ie. the moisture shields). Although there is no denying the fact that they look a bit unusual, they look WAY better than my clear-lens Wiley's.

They don't fit super snug up against the face like the foam-lined goggles do, so will not offer very good protection from wind... but for indoor use, or maybe even outdoors on a fairly calm summer evening, they will be better than wearing nothing at all.

I tried them out on my drive home from work yesterday evening - the heat was on full blast, so I'd normally be wearing my clear Wiley's for protection. The MEGS held up well in that environment, and I didn't have to take them off when I went thru the McDonald's drive-thru window haha

As a girl, I'm glad that my long hair hides the side shields fairly well... makes the glasses look that much more normal!

I ordered the brown women's size... but I also ordered a pair of every colour of side shield in the women's (I wanted to see how they looked on me, and will return the extras!). The red is almost exactly the colour of red wine, so could look really nice on the right person. The purple was a really dark, rich shade of purple. The brown is a dark chocolate brown.

One thing that I didn't realize until it was pointed out to me is that the frames match the colour of the side shields... if you're planning to order side-shields in more than one colour to mix and match with your frames, this is something to consider.

    Hope this helps someone!

@Susie28 Sorry for such a late response! I don't check this much, but somebody recently sent me a private message which reminded me to check in on some forums Is there a way that I can get an email sent to me when somebody writes on the same thread that I've participated in?

I have a rounder head with fuller cheeks, so the Women's Unisex fits me well. I think if I would have bought the Women's Small it would not have fit around my face correctly to give me enough protection. Purple is my favorite color, so I bought the lavender color. I promise it does not look like that super bright magenta color on the website!

Has anybody found a good way to clean your MEGs yet without having to pop off the goggle part?

      Hook 'em!

I have my MEGs!!! Yesterday they arrived in Germany. Debbie sent them to Germany a week ago. I didn't exspect to get them so early. Now I'm really happy:-)
They fit really good (I think my face is perfect for the woman size) and look really fashionably. I can't say anything about the protection, because I have to get prescription lenses first. (I can't wear them without prescription because I need - 8 dioptries...)
I got the brown shields and they are very dark. Much darker than on the homepage. They create shadows around my eyes, so I think a brighter colour would have been better. But I don't care about this. Now I have to find a good optician and some kind of adjusting band.
I'll post when I've got these things.

Well, I had to work in a store with terribly low humidity, and even worse, it was BUSY... so lots of running around, which sucks the life out of my eyes... geez... prior to dry eye, who would have thought the "wind" from walking quickly could feel so bad?

Anyhow, I decided to bite the bullet and wear my MEGS... IN PUBLIC, at work... most customers didn't even seem to notice them because my hair is long, and covered the side shields. The only time I would catch anyone looking at them is if I forgot I was trying to "hide them", and tucked my hair behind my ears.... then people would definitely look at them curiously... but by that point, I didn't care anymore... I was just glad to be working in comfort.

It was SO nice to be able to walk as FAST as I wanted without hurting my eyes!

I think the key to pulling off MEGS in public is dress really well... I think it almost makes people think that maybe, just maybe, the MEGS are a really trendy new style of glasses that they just haven't seen before

(hmmm... am I delusional or what!?!... oh well... )

All I can say is MEGS are the BEST invention EVER!!! Finally I can wear something akin to goggles at work that I still feel attractive in!

Wow, so you're really liking these, huh? Awesome. Making me wonder if I should get a pair. I'm still not using goggles at home on the computer. Just haven't seen anything that makes sense for me, though I love my 7Eyes copper sunglasses for outside. R.

SAAG - thats so good to hear! I'm so happy for you!!

My MEGs are at my opticians at the moment. (I need a prescription of -7.00 for computer use)This will last some time because he has to check which lenses we can use. I prefer the ceaper ones with index 1.6 because nobody will see the thick frames of the lenses because they are coverd by the shields of the MEGs. But my optician has to check whether the plugs fit in the drilling of a thick 1.6 lense. if not, we have to try the thinnner (and very much more expensive) 1.74 index lense :-/

I'll post when I get my MEGs with prescription. I'm very excited :-)

Kind regards from the snowy (meanwhile I hate the snow!! It's March!!!) Germany!

                  Hi there!
I got my prescription MEGs today. It was possible to use the cheap lenses with index 1.6, thank god!
But the lenses became very very thick!! Normally I wear slenderer glasses (with a smaller diameter), so that the lenses use to become not very thick. I measured the edge of the MEGs lenses and it is 7mm thick (my sport glasses with index 1.6 are only 5mm thick and my expensive fancy glasses with index 1.74 are only 4mm thick. Hugh - I was very shocked when I saw these thick MEGs-lenses!)
But who cares? The thick edge coverd by the shields of the MEGs
But consider this, when you have more dioptries than me (I have -7.0) you may have to buy the expensive 1.74 index lenses so that the plugs of the MEGs fit in the drilling of the lenses! Even so if your normal lenses are not that thick - the huge MEGs lenses will become very thick with high prescription!

I still can't say anything about the protection of the MEGs, but tomorrow I'll check them out in a extrem situation We'll go skiing in Austria and in this country smoking is still allowed everywhere. I'll wear my MEGs in the restaurants and bars we will visit and I hope they will protect my poor dry eyes against the bad smoke. It's not very cool to go in a bar with moisture chamber goggles - but if the MEGs help, I'll be happy. Because it's very much uncooler to go to a bar not at all

                      Florida or BUST!

                      Hi everybody!

I just got finished with my last spring break as a college student! I went with my family to the beach and even though the sun was out, the wind was definitely blowing. The first day I hung out at the beach and my eyes were a little irritated, but it was the second day when I really felt the awful effects of the constant wind. After coming in from the beach on the second day I could barely keep my eyes open because they were stinging and watering.

I put my MEGs on when I got inside (I probably should have worn them outside but who knows what kind of tan I would have come back to school with!!! Haha.) and it helped tremendously. When I tried taking my MEGs off, I could tell a significant difference because I still wasn't able to open my eyes without my MEGs. This was my first experience of extreme dry eyes and it was AWFUL!!!! I even took a nap with my MEGs on until my eyes regained their moisture again!

                        Great Thread!

This is a fantastic thread on MEGS. I would really love a pair. I actually wear my wiley's in public all the time. All day at work, everywhere really. I never have them off. I think I will check into seeing if insurance will cover the MEGS.

Thanks for the great info and style advice on these goggles!!

The other night at work I wore my hair up... my eyes would not have been able to handle my shift unless I wore eye protection, so I bit the bullet, and put the MEG's on. There was no hiding the side shields with my hair up.

Anyhow, I felt a bit self conscious with them fully visible that way, but a customer made my day! She actually COMPLIMENTED me on my "cool" glasses! This was a woman who looked very fashionable, with a really nice pair of glasses herself - I couldn't believe anyone would think my MEG's were "cool!"

I mean they look pretty good when you can hide the side shields with long hair worn down... but with the side shields exposed?... that's a different story!

So I guess while there are no doubt many folks out there who will most definitely NOT think they are cool, this just goes to prove that there are others who will like them, thinking you are just wearing regular glasses with a unique style!

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone is trying to muster up the courage to wear them in public!

Hey Saag, thank you for your update. I'm so happy for you! Sounds really good.
May I ask you which color your MEGs have? Mine are brown and throw big shadows around my eyes. They are also very much bigger than my normal glasses and don't have the shape which looks good at my face :-( So I think my MEGs look really freaky...
I think the side shields aren't the most freaky thing about the MEGs. If the MEGs have a good shape which fits to your face they won't be really freaky.
Perhaps in my case it would have been better if I'd bought eagle vision moist eye panels (http://www.eaglevis.com/panels.htm) and would have combined them with nice glasses which look good at me...
So I think in your case the MEGs have the perfect shape and they look really good at you. Don't care about the side shields. Not everybody will notice them and yes, some people will think that these side shields are a kind of fashin style:-)

You know, with "things" everyone wears (or doesn't wear) today, MEGS would probably be on the "not too noticible" list. Look at the fashions, the lack of fashions, bare skin, pants down to the knees, pink and blue hair, mohawks, piercings just about everywhere--even on the face.

Think about those things a minute and then wonder how many people have the time, or even the need to look at your glasses! I still wear my Panoptx goggles to casinos for smoky atmosphere. They are not the sunglasses type unless you're in the sun. They have lens that are just a tad dark and you can barely see my eyes with foam all around. I don't give a darn what anyone thinks. No one ever says a thing. Lucy

                                How can I order MEGS?

                                Hi everyone

I live in Ireland and am trying to order a pair of MEGS on the seefit website. I'd be so grateful if anyone living in Europe who has managed to do this could let me know how they did it. When you're trying to order online from outside the US a message comes up saying it can't calculate the shipping until the order is processed and you can't proceed with the order because it says there is shipping information missing

I've tried ringing them to no avail and my optician tried emailing them several times and got no answer. I'm also concerned about how I'd go about returning them if they didn't fit - I've a small face with a low bridge to my nose and my optician thinks they may sit too low on my face as they don't have adjustable nose-pads. I read a post from Rebecca saying that they can be returned but I can find no information about this on their website and given how difficult it is to make contact with them I'm wondering if I'll be stuck with them if they're not right. Expensive mistake! Has anyone managed to return anything?

It's getting a little urgent as I'm starting a new job in a month and I don't feel confident wearing the ridiculous-looking laboratory glasses that I'm wearing in my current job where I can hide away most of the time.

Before I go I'd like to thank you all for posting and sharing your experiences. This website has been a huge source of support for me over the past year or so.

                                Thanks again.

                                H
