Hello,
I have had 4 puncta plugged for about a year and a half now. I had my eye biopsied and it revealed signifacant inflammation, indicating my pain is not a result of a problem with my tears. Recently, I went on doxy long term (3 months) which has improved my eyes much more than when I tried doxy for one month a couple years ago. My eyes were starting to feel really good with the plugs in, but I have always had A LOT of excessive tearing. Even with the tearing, my always always burned. After the doxy started working, the burning went away. So, I took out one of my plugs. It has been very dry and red since then (only 6 days). I know people experience rebound dryness after using plugs; I was wondering how long it usually takes for people's eyes to adjust after removing them. I am eager to see if my eye will feel normal due to the doxy reducing inflammation once the initial dryness goes away.
